"Chirp, Chirp"

"Chirp, Chirp"

I chirped and chirped as I searched for Bella,

"Where are you, Bella? The migration starts in a few minutes!"

"I'm coming, Mauritius!", said Bella while hurriedly flying towards our flock.

Bella, a beautiful and colorful Golden Pheasant, her colors are that of the radiant sun and the serene view of the auburn mountains.

"Fellas and fella' fledglings, It's time to go to the South!",

exclaimed Commander Ernest Tweetsums, a brave, huge American Eagle who also happens to be our main leader.

Commander Tweetsums, the brave heartbreaker of a general, has led the most successful migrations our tiny bird nation ever had in the past 100 years and this year's migration looks to be the same, peaceful and smooth bird ride (Uh, I mean fly).

Bella then pecked me with her beak and said, "Hey, Mauritius, look, look!"

The beautiful, graceful, and "wise beyond her years" Golden Pheasant of a woman then showed me a complex, nosebleed-inducing piece of a scroll.

"Nice ancient scroll you have there, Bella," I blushingly exclaimed.

The beautiful birdling then replied, "Hehe...No, you silly,

This is a blueprint...A blueprint for Dream Flyer 3000."

"Cream Fryer 3000? sound like a good oven toaster" I cluelessly replied.

"NO, MAURITIUS HAHAAAA!!!! DreamFlyer 3000, the future of bird flight, no more, that birds like us need to break a feather or shiver in the freezing storm just to go South for the winter" excitingly exclaimed by the beautiful bird belle.

Bella went for hours, explaining to the clueless me about her complex contraption of a "future robot flight machine" while staring at her beautiful crown, shiny beaks, and her stunningly captivating eyes.

"So how about it, would you agree to make the Dream Flyer 3000 with me, Mauritius? With my extensive knowledge in Science & Engineering and with your uh, uh...craftsmanship, we can build this historic, flight-changing marvel of a machine."

"Please...Please Mauritius", Bella looked at me straight into the eyes with her captivating, beautiful bird eyes.

Without understanding anything that Bella has said about flight engineering and machines, I said yes to her.

"YEHEEEEEYYYYY", I love you Mauritius!", joyfully exclaimed by Bella.

"So Mauritius, I'll take you to my mini Lab as soon as we head to North Dakota" (The central part of the US, our stopover before we hit our Miami destination.)

I replied, "So you mean, we'll move away from the flock?"

"Do you believe in me, Mauritius?" while holding my hands and looking into my eyes.

"Yes, Bella...I do, I do."

Then here we are North Dakota, the land of the sweet and wine-like Chokeberries.

Bella grabbed my small bird fingers and we wandered around the Great plains.

We ate, we ran, we flew to our heart's content.

Until a raging storm engulfed the peaceful night sky.

Bison, Ferrets, and Pronghorns running for their lives.

Bella and I look worriedly towards one another.

We wonder how the flock is doing on this season's migration.

Bella started to run towards the cave just behind the giant cottonwood trees while holding tight to my small birdy fingers.

"Here we are, Mauritius, welcome to Bella's Lab."

I look at the small yet futuristic lab with awe and amazement.

How can a ladybird like Bella create this magnificent wonder of a lab?

Then she showed me the failed prototypes for DreamFlyer3000.

"Behind you, Mauritius is the Futuristic Broomstick3000 but sadly, it gets out of control really fast", she frowned.

"Then on your right is Octavius AceFLyer III" but unfortunately it always goes short circuit for some reason."

Bella and I worked and worked the whole night away, the bright scientist and her uber-willing accomplice trying to create the first-ever and most ambitious non-human-made robot flyer yet.

<Alarm clock ringing>

"Wake up, wake up, Mauritius!" daytime has come already!

"Behold! the most magnificent and ambitious automated flyer yet, Dream Flyer 3000!"

The raging storm went on but Bella and I are determined to save our flock and to help the bird belle that I love to prove to herself and to everyone that a woman like her can build the most magnificent flying machine ever made.

We brave out the storm finding for the flock, the Dream Flyer 3000 flying in the speed of a jet unlike anything seen before even by humans.

"There they are!” excitedly said, Bella.

We opened up the back door of our flying machine.

Storm-ravaged birds flying fast to our sanctuary-like aircraft to seek refuge.

UNTIL

"Mauritius, we are running out of fuel!"

The Dream Flyer is already reaching its critical fuel level.

I bravely exited the front area of the flyer as I looked to find fuel in the nearby village.

Suddenly, thunders started to roar in the sky but the foolishly brave me (For Bella and my flock) went on and on.

"There it is!"

I grabbed the box containing a set of fuel and flew all the way up back to the Dream Flyer.

"You made it, Mauritius!" Bella, crying tears of joy.

The flock of birds, Bella, and I made it safely to Miami, our migratory destination.

As the flock was chirping and screeching in joy, my body started to feel numb and give up.

"Mauritius! You can't give up, not now.

We'll fly together across the waters of Miami, remember?"

The chirping, tweeting, and screeching of the flock suddenly turned into a deafening silence as Bella started to burst into tears.

"No, No, Mauritius, You can't leave me like this".

Tears suddenly dropped to my tiny bird cheek as I little-by-little, opened my eyes.

Then I started to smile faintly as I saw the very beautiful belle.

"You're, You're alive!"

Bella then slapped me with her feisty wing and told me, "You don't know how much you made me worry about you!"

The flock rejoiced and Bella suddenly grabbed me on my injured wings and kissed me with her beautiful, shiny beak.

THE END

What happened to the brave general, Ernest Tweetsums?

What is next for the Dream Flyer 3000 and its couple of love birds (well a Golden Pheasant and a Robin lover boy)?

Tune in for BOOK II.
